The Extra Tooth

Charlotte had oral surgery to remove an extra tooth.

This is what it looked like 1 year ago.
After she finally lost her 2 baby front teeth, it was time to extract it.
This is the panoramic x-ray from the day of the surgery.

The oral surgeon was Dr. Sabol and he was phenomenal! The anesthesiologist was super fantastic, too.

It was only about 10 minutes, and Dr. Sabol said it was harder to get out than expected. It was really embedded in the roots of the 2 adult teeth. He had to make an incision on the front and on the inside, then push it from behind out the front. She had 3 stitches and was a bit swollen for a day.

They gave her a goody bag, a little treasure box for her tooth and a new tooth brush. But, the best of all was this little purple nurse shark. She grabbed and hugged it like it was her best friend. It was just what she needed to feel comforted.

She enjoyed eating jello for most the day, then returned to her normal energetic self, only 5 hours after surgery! Kids bounce back so fast!
